Dreams.

Oh, that feeling of doom, when you can't escape or win, and all that remains is a tormenting and sorrowful wait for the end.

It often happens in dreams, although I always frantically try to find a way out of the situation until the very end, and sometimes it even happens that in the last second I manage to get out "scot-free."
