Damn, an important thought ended up at the bottom of the page! :) I looked at this board again and realized that I would still make the move to g6. Here's the thing: if you're unsure which of two options to choose, it's better to choose the simpler one. This will make things easier and simplify the rest of the game, especially if the subsequent actions in the simpler scenario are already roughly clear. Delving into complexities doesn't always yield results. Plus, choosing simpler actions saves time.
