The game system described by Vik, involving short timers on Diamond difficulty, based on "watching streams and 20-30 single-player generations," and presented as "optimal gameplay," is complete nonsense.
Firstly, it's a blatant attempt to level the playing field between stronger and weaker players, at least for the first week. Since we're playing with 4-5 heroes and avoiding difficult battles, there's almost no opportunity to showcase skill differences.
Secondly, with this approach, if you're unlucky and end up in a match with tough blocks, you can basically just give up. You won't engage in difficult battles, and there's even less scouting, so you start the second week guessing where to go, which is very advantageous.
And thirdly, claiming to understand Vik's game strategy at 200% is such a delightful theoretical exercise. The essence of 200% understanding lies in actively micromanaging at the start, wherever possible.
