Thank you for the link. Regarding Ireland and Scotland. Both of these countries were distinguished by their religious characteristics. Since they were inhabited by Celts, they were initially Orthodox (of the Arian persuasion). Later, they adopted Catholicism and became staunch opponents of the Protestant English. They were also distinguished by their tribal structure; there was no unity of the state as such.
