In general, the author can do whatever they want with the mod.
BUT...
If opinions differ, it makes sense to leave several versions. Like 1.0, 2.0, etc., the most successful ones, so to speak. But the author is right, after downloading the mod, I first sat down and spent about 3 hours on the map, looking at the commanders for each race, looking at the heroes, and reading the descriptions (a separate thank you for these two things, it's very interesting).
