I have the impression that many people write posts about the total superiority of one faction over another after a successful battle against the computer on "novice" or "warrior" difficulty (although even on "hero" difficulty, the computer isn't that strong or smart). A hero, like the Academician, pumped up to level 30, with knowledge over 30, with an army filled with mini-arts for everything possible, and himself adorned with relic artifacts like a Christmas tree – easily defeats an Elf of level 18-20 whose army consists only of dryads and dancers... yes, un-upgraded druids. And then you get posts like "he didn't even have time to fart before I killed him."

The other day, something similar happened to me with a guy who was trying to prove to me that he could beat everyone in Heroes 5... I asked him what his favorite Castle was, and he said it was the Academy (because of the archers and mages)... As a result, he plays on the lowest level, where resources are scarce and the computer is weak, because you can't win in such conditions... And what amused me the most was that he doesn't know how to split creatures (what a mega-cool guy)...

As for the Elves, the Academy definitely won't defeat them in 2-4 rounds, provided that the opponents developed almost equally... Mages get a faster start than Elves, but Elves upgrade their creatures, while Mages upgrade themselves... the creatures are left aside... although they compensate for this with mini-arts, but finding that many resources for them is difficult... Elves are fast in development and in battle, and they quickly take down their sworn enemies; the main thing is to have a good head on your shoulders and a tree!;)
