I believe the reason lies elsewhere. The lack of a "morale" system is taking its toll. Newcomers simply can't grasp what is good and what is bad. In the past, you could clearly understand which messages earned a person respect and authority on the forum, and what consequences followed certain phrases like "everything sucks, death is the best."

I'm not a fan of tightening the screws. And I agree with ZYbr in that this affects forum traffic. And I'm very sad to have to delete some posts that, according to the rules, should be removed, but in reality, they contain much more information than, say, a two-word message from a newcomer. But newcomers now really seem to have gone wild and feel like they're in a chat room. And I mentioned the reasons for this above.
