Tactics against the Tower.

Rushing the Tower, considering its characteristics, is quite enjoyable, so the conclusion is obvious – Stronghold. Moreover, the map is just L.

And who should I take for Stronghold against Solmyr? His chain lightning is simply deadly for troops, so I think tactics are essential, and how can I rush him? Please advise.
And if, let's say, the map is XL, is it worth relying on Stronghold, or would it be better to take Dungeon or Rampart?
