Tactics against the Tower.

Hello everyone, I'm not a forum necromancer, but I have a serious question: which faction should I play against the Tower faction? I tried playing as Conflux on a large, L-shaped map, using Ciel and Monera. It's difficult to replenish the army because it's expensive. It's also hard to withstand Solmyr and his chain lightning. Can you advise me on which faction to choose against the Tower? I'm thinking of Dungeon or Rampart. Which one is better, and how should I play? Oh, I forgot to mention that we're playing the version with the patch for pirates, which supposedly balances the game. In that version, the fake units level up after building the magic school in Conflux.
