He didn't wait; he placed a mentor at the very beginning and didn't change anything else. He completed the game, albeit with some difficulty, in 164 days (he received a fire dragon). The map is very challenging; he had to fight off enemies almost until the very end. At the beginning, he changed his skills, and after capturing a Castle, he sailed to the nearest Sphinx, captured a lumber mill and a mine, and headed to the eastern Castles, with all these actions accompanied by constant battles with rivals. Having gathered troops in the eastern Castles and gaining experience in magic and skills (Fury of the Elements), he captured the southern Castle of his faction (the starting one had been lost long ago). Gradually, quickly moving between the three Castles and gaining strength (which was facilitated by the navigation skill), he was able to defeat the main strong opponents (by the way, they already had the Tear of Askh). I must give credit to the author; the AI is very strong and acts intelligently, and most importantly, aggressively. Nevertheless, I will keep my comments valid and add: it would be good if Castor had some kind of powerful spell of level 2-3 at the beginning. Otherwise, thank you to the author for the challenging and interesting map.

So, it's just naturally "smart" :D
