Sorry, but the possibility of a serious depression doesn't make sense to me; I don't believe in mental disorders at all and consider it to be self-delusion. I understand that there are tons of scientific studies on this topic, but I just can't accept it.
It doesn't matter whether it's a disorder, self-delusion, or an exaggerated personality trait. The point is that a person experiences certain feelings for a prolonged period, and you can't verify whether they are actually experiencing them or not. You either believe them or you don't.
