In general, originality has nothing to do with quality, just like quantity. You can come up with a lot of "unconventional" things, but will it be interesting or even better than the already overused setting? Not necessarily.

The discussion somehow went in a different direction. My point was that if you organize a contest where you can only submit anime-style pictures, the diversity and originality will be much greater than in these landscapes.
