Sometimes, these four bastards start to seem like husband material to me. But then I remember what happened to some of them in the classic adaptation, I curse for a long time and vehemently, I call the one who came up with this all sorts of bad names, and I take a break from this thought.

Apparently, THIS was done by none other than Kunihiko Ikuhara, the director of the first four seasons of the classic series.

Because in all his subsequent works, there is practically nothing but THIS. Like an anime-style Viktor Tyuk.

For example, here is my favorite – Revolutionary Girl Utena (1997), my all-time favorite anime series. We recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.









The pictures don't really capture it, of course. And the beginning is so innocent... but closer to the end, it turns into a real live report from Sodom and Gomorrah.

A great, great series. It was ahead of its time by about fifteen years, and only now, with all this LGBT apocalypse, has it finally been remembered. I was already starting to think that no one else had seen it besides me.
Or that no one survived it...
