Attractive appearance, highly developed intellect and imagination, unconventional thinking, sound judgment, loyalty, and devotion. Not a bad set of qualities; you can work with that.

You can do without all that, and you won't be gay. And you don't need to poke each other with your fleshy appendages to have your special someone.

But my fleshy appendage really needs to be poked somewhere...

I'll even say more – a person is very likely to turn out to be not "who they really are." Does anyone around me know that I'm an unbalanced Age of Empires fanboy, or about my psycho-emotional state? No, no one does. Because to them, I'm just a regular 23-year-old guy.

Well, I'll add that it's a little more difficult with guys in this regard because the gentleman's code dictates that you should keep a straight face in public. It's easier with girls; their true nature is often immediately apparent.
