Yeah, I cut my hair short for similar reasons. In first grade, I remember they used to do all sorts of fashionable braids and stuff, in fifth grade I just wore a ponytail, and at some point I cut it into a bob and I've kept that length ever since. Though, I recently dyed it and had to quickly buy shampoo for color-treated hair. Ideally, I should also stock up on all sorts of similar products (I heard somewhere that a mask for undyed hair can wash out all the color, and I only have that kind), but that's easier than all the rituals that people with long hair go through.
