Marmot, thank you for such a detailed and engaging report. The map, based on the description and minimap, seems interesting, and I will definitely try playing it sometime, perhaps even daring to start as Demons or Necromancer :) It's interesting to know what extremely difficult challenges the author might have presented to players back in 2001.
However, the presence of taverns, the ability to buy out enemy heroes, the Orator's Hat, Air Magic books, Medals of Vulnerability, Angel Wings, and especially the King of the Undead Cloak suggests that problems in completing the map are possible only up to a certain point.
In general, I've added it to my list, right after The Last Crusade.

The water passage is impressive, no worse than the hero's flight in "007 chases Dr No". The names of the heroes alone are enough to twist your tongue! :) And has anyone tried to "get back" at the Chinese by giving them Russian maps, in particular, "Paragon"? ;) Let them suffer too! :)
The water passage in the screenshot is only possible after visiting the stable and having troops with maximum speed in the army (in our case, only the Serpent is suitable), otherwise, you won't be able to accumulate 3000 movement points. The second hero also travels across the water, but in a different location, and after sacrificing the entire army at the sacrificial altar. I haven't encountered such original authorial solutions before. It seems that on this map, Season has outdone himself :)
I doubt that the Chinese can be stopped by not understanding the map's language. But if it were somehow possible to prevent viewing the map in the editor and prospector, then it might be possible to confuse them)
