The Lord of the Rings

Yes, War of the Ring is very similar to Warcraft 3, probably it was inspired by it, but I still liked the game. Even though it doesn't have the same depth as the game from Blizzard, it's still playable. The main thing for me is that there isn't an overwhelming number of units, as in global strategy games, and it's a "game for evenings," which isn't a bad thing. Games from EA are, of course, more cinematic than their predecessors, but the simplified building and minimal resources are a drawback. Again, IMHO.
