Volunteers do not play the most important role on the battlefield; they only have a chance to win when they outnumber the enemy. In other situations, volunteers hide behind the backs of city guards. CREATURE_629 Billmen When the dissolution of volunteer battalions is announced, there are always people who want to continue their military service. In such cases, a volunteer becomes a billman – a recruit of the city guard. Billmen are armed more seriously than volunteers, but their training leaves much to be desired; they compensate for the lack of skill with strict discipline and courage. CREATURE_612 Merks Cowards and scoundrels – that’s what these warriors are! Anyone who hires merks should think twice before doing so because even having a large group of these soldiers does not guarantee complete safety. All their combat skills and ferocity, combined with the absence of honor and a tendency to betray, make merks extremely ambiguous soldiers, so their services are used only in hopeless situations.
