and lately, sci-fi has been appearing more and more in my dreams.
I dreamt of some kind of mundane life in a computerized world.
The most memorable moment was that operating systems were supplied in the form of "seeds" that had to be "grown" in computers. However, computers in the sense we have them now could only be called that in a very conditional way, because operating systems and software were supplied for everything, starting from refrigerators and home climate control systems.
The seed was a kind of mixture of a "genome" (a set of standard functions) and an embryonic artificial intelligence (which was actually what had to be "grown," i.e., configured and trained to suit one's own needs and tastes).
Therefore, there were no two identical operating systems:
1. Each person had a computer set tailored to their own needs. These were like "ideal imaginary friends" that communicated with the owner and with each other.
2. Computer viruses were practically non-existent because, in this diversity, there were no common "security vulnerabilities" for all operating systems.
