That's a big mistake.

Not a mistake. Antimagic artifacts are the weakest point in the game's balance. Most balance suggestions (here and on other platforms) relate to the red orb and the cloak (Eagle Eye is second). Within the Heroes' ideology, changing the functionality of standard objects is undesirable, so suggestions to change the way the Orb of Counterspell works are not seriously considered, but banning or replacing it is quite acceptable. While it was only possible to ban artifacts in bulk on all templates at once, the fate of the Orb of Counterspell was debated, but when selective bans on specific templates became possible, the issue resolved itself.
