It gave up quite a few powerful units, but there were no mermaids or magic (which I started building later), and I decided to pressure the opponent with AoTD and attacked his town. But the opponent had an implant that scattered almost all my troops. I was left with only a stack of cyclops and a few horses, and the opponent had a stack of skeletons. I bought my way out.
Then the opponent went to attack me in return and got caught in a hit-and-run with shooters. After thinning out the skeleton stack a bit, he attacked with his main force and finished me off.
As it turned out later, the opponent had a 5th level hat and a Knight's Vengeance.
