Heroes Olden Era Patch #6 Released: Network Stability, Balance, and Campaign Fixes

Olden Era

Studio Unfrozen has released Patch #6 (version 0.80.14) for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. The update focuses on multiplayer stability, difficulty balance, and extensive campaign fixes.

Key changes:

  • New "Moderate" difficulty level for random maps — positioned between Normal and Hard to ease the transition to tougher challenges.
  • Stronger AI on Hard and Unfair difficulties — these levels now pose a genuine challenge to experienced players.
  • Fixed desynchronizations in multiplayer caused by the "Involuntary Summons" and "Guild of Six Winds" buildings, as well as freezes when loading saves with simultaneous turns.
  • Improved network lobby and matchmaking: fixed windows closing when lobby settings were changed, the reconnection timeout has been reduced from 6 to 4 minutes, and opponent search has been improved.
  • Combat timers: players now receive +5 seconds on the timer after each stack ends its turn.
  • Redesigned construction interface in towns — buildings with a choice are now more prominent, with options displayed separately.
  • Numerous campaign bug fixes in the missions "Never-ending Conflict," "Burning Hearts," "Deal with a Vampire," "Garner Hills," "Into the Woods," "Alvar Diruil," "Corruption," "Renegade," and others.
  • Scenario fixes: "Fun and Graves" — redundant dialogues removed; "Gorges of Discord" — fixed the infiltrator dwelling being captured for free when playing as Dungeon.
  • Localization: added descriptions for the new difficulty level, updated the Czech translation, and replaced placeholder texts in Russian, English, and Czech.
