Rambo1969, try playing my modifications, as I also liked the map. I made it as you requested, with allies and a single-player mode (for an adrenaline rush...).
I'm attaching the file and a list of modifications:
Borderlands_s - a single-player map, and Borderlands_ss - an allied map.

Added 2 castles (an option for allies and a deathmatch);
Strengthened the garrisons;
Added a "hotabych" and a tent with artifacts on each territory, 1 tent per castle (except for the Dungeon);
Allowed all artifacts to be purchased;
Allowed almost all heroes to be hired (except for Alarik - because he's a slow-moving infantry unit, a tank, a ghost, and a UFO);
Added 2 Tears of Ash (but there's an uncorrected bug - if you dig up one, the location of the second one may change; I'm not sure how to fix this...).
Hint - (I'm writing this just in case, in case something happens because of this buggy feature...) - 1 Tear of Ash is at the top, the second is in the Dungeon.
