Ergon spent his whole long life in ceaseless motion — he served in Lord Slayer's guard in Enroth, escorted elven caravans in Jadame, soldiered for hire in Antagarich, and only in his twilight years realized he wished to settle where, it seems, one comes to rest from rapid marches. Yet his talent for arranging such rapid marches he has not lost even now.
