ERA

ERA is the scripting engine and mod-loader that powers much of modern Heroes III. By opening the game's inner workings up to plugins and scripts, it lets authors layer on sweeping new mechanics, campaigns and total conversions that would be impossible in the original.

If a Heroes III mod does something the base game never could, ERA is often what makes it run.
