Tournament "PATH TO OLYMPUS"

EPILOGUE:

Since new tournaments, both online and offline, appear in the Heroes community every day – or rather, they don't appear at all. I decided to organize and run this tournament. The idea of the tournament is as old as the world itself – only those participants whom I personally approve will be able to participate in it, with the exception of cases where AK prohibits someone from participating. Basically, this category includes players with 1700+ rating points, but I repeat that this criterion is not mandatory for everyone.
The prize fund for the tournament will be 10,000 rubles plus sponsorship money from anyone who wants to contribute. The distribution of prizes will be as follows:
1st place – 70%;
2nd place – 30%.
If you like the idea of the tournament, want to support it, and have the means, any material assistance will go towards increasing the prize fund (all my contact information is provided; call, write, etc.).
Details on how to support the tournament and increase its prize fund:
Qiwi wallet +79372490006
Sberbank card 4276 5600 1455 6874

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Tournament organizer: Dark (303751774).
Tournament judges: Dark (303751774), skd (593626431).
2. The tournament takes place according to the current forum rules, which are currently /topic/10593/.
3. Version for SoD 3.2 (4.0) +HD-mod game.
4. Template selection is done by choosing from a list of 9 templates: 2SM4d(3), Jebus cross, 8xm12a, 8mm6a, 6LM10a, Spider, 8хm8а, Mini-nostalgia, Diamond marked in red in the table starts selecting templates first. In the group stage, red indicates the player listed first in the pair (e.g., No. 1 vs. No. 3, meaning No. 1 is red).
Changes to the main rules regarding the timer:
4.1. Chess timer:
for l+y 16+6+1,
for hl+y 16+8+1,
for jebus 21+8+1.15. (roads only FAST!)
Total restarts 113 (111+111+111, 112+111, 113).
Random castle selection and trade:
The host generates a random pair of castles using a special button. Immediately after generation, each player can request a regeneration once for 500 coins as compensation to their opponent. If at least one castle repeats during regeneration, that same player has the right (but is not obligated) to request one free regeneration. Trading begins with the player who is not the host of the game. If identical castles are drawn (so to speak), a free regen is carried out if at least one player expresses a desire. Provided that both agree to play mirror match, players have the right to ban 1 hero each; the host of the game starts banning heroes. In this case, there is also trading for heroes after the ban.
Color trade.
Starting January 11, 2017, on the Mini-nostalgia template, the order of computer selection will be determined by flipping a coin.
4.2. Guild of Mages restructuring – enabled.
4.3. One-sided unit replacement – disabled.
5. All tournament games will count towards the seasonal rating; an report must be provided for each played game (the organizer has the right to remove a player from the tournament if the player does not confirm the report for the previous game(s)).
6. Saves of all matches must be saved until the end of the tournament and saves and passwords must be presented upon first request from organizers and judges of the tournament. Failure to provide a password may result in a technical defeat. It should also be noted that passwords for saves must also be provided to opponents upon their first request after the game is played; failure to comply with this rule will result in disciplinary action up to and including disqualification.
7. All controversial issues are resolved through the organizer or judges of the tournament. Organizers and judges follow the current forum rules and logic in contentious situations.
8. The organizer reserves the right not to allow a player to participate in the tournament without explanation.
9. If a participant cannot personally agree with their opponent on a game, they must immediately notify the judge. In such cases, the judge decides on scheduling an ODD (One Day Delay).
Minimum game time when scheduling an ODD – 5 hours.
10. There will be 40 participants, and the tournament will be awarded Official status, and the winner will receive an award under their avatar (in development).
11. The winner of the tournament will have the right to participate in the Wild card tournament for FB-11.
12. By submitting your application, you agree to the regulations and terms of the tournament.
13. The tournament organizer reserves the right to change the rules at its discretion, guided by common sense and logic.

Everything was fine in this game except for the control; there was nowhere to build.
I was lucky that I dug up a level 5 hat from the second Dragon Utopia, otherwise it would have been very bad. For a long time, tactical battles for territory capture took place because I didn't have TP, while they had full control. In the end, I wiped out all their power in front of the Castle on a fluke.

I played the first 2 weeks very well, and map turned out to be okay despite having 3 heroes 111 with +gold, and almost no army (tyraxor 1 stack). I found some money in my area and with trade post could build bears and take 120 zombies that guarded roc dwelling. Week 2 I entered a good treasure, didnt have a lot of meat though so had to wait for 131 to take tope. I made a mistake and ruined my chain and Tyraxor had to wait a full day, then took size 3 tope on 132 that gave nothing useful. On 133 I took another tope with 3 relics, and got titan's gladius and +3all. I was building up inf guild and took 4-5 cyclop stockpiles with scout heroes, and took flux ai's town.I went back into this treasure because there was one more tope far away. On 136 it gave me KZ, and 3rd build in inf gave DD. Then opponent showed up with huge army and took my flux just before I could develop labetha+luna+adela with full control. This was turning point in game because I didnt have expert air for a couple more days and couldnt effectively control the map, and didnt have safe town to hide in. I made 2 mistakes this game and it cost me everything.

We took a few restarts and I got good heroes.
Gunnar, Grinya, Jeddit, and I decided that such a lineup would suit me. Gunnar immediately trashed 2 max Crypts, and Grinya leveled up Advanced Earth in a pillar. In the next zone, I got a small block right away in the form of Vampires for +3 morale/luck. I didn't break through into the sands yet because of the shooter guards. In the end, I leveled Grinya where I could and he immediately gets Expert Earth :smile03:
A cart brought 40+ Vampires and I easily micromanaged them. I broke through on another road where the block was more serious, 50+ Gargoyles. Behind the Vampires, the passage turned out to be bugged back into the sands, and there Minotaurs guard a Level 5 Hat + Dragon Fly Hive.
In the underground, I found a Pandora's Box with 50+ Medusas, sent Grinya home to refill mana. On day 117, I was able to build Mages. On the first day, buying and I easily crush the Medusas and get 15 Lich Lords from the Pandora's Box . The next day, 105 Minotaurs give me the Hat. Then I started gathering Dragon Fly Hives, by the end of day 124 I already had 38. Grinya got Air, Intelligence, and Scholar to pick up Resurrection. Then time ran out and problems started because contact happened. I ran into some corner where I found nothing and only wasted time; the opponent already had a bigger army showing. But he didn't go to take my main and Cursed Shield + Dragon Fly Hive behind Archangels, which I had, and thereby gave me time to take my Dragon Utopia (Gladius + 4 All), max out Air, and take the situation into my own hands. By the middle of the 3rd week, I already controlled the situation and also took a mini Dragon Utopia for the Teapot. Next, I took the main.
On day 142, I was about to pick up the Cursed Shield behind Archangels to finally secure the advantage, but Dave conceded due to lack of control and prospects. :smile03:

I congratulate Redwhait on winning the tournament ,even though we had 3 games where I felt I had no chances. Still, its a great accomplishment because with this many top players its very hard to win, and he also played really well. I am disappointed with the recent games, but I am very glad I could participate and beat some of the greatest players in the world. I admit I had my lucky games, but in elimination tournaments, skill alone is simply not enough.
Thank you Dark for the organization, and all the others for the good games!

I would like to once again congratulate Redwait on his victory :smile49: :smile49: and present him with a prize in the form of some money a little later:smile44: :smile44: :smile44:, as well as a medal, as soon as I coordinate it with Dirty Man:D :D :D

Dave did a great job, he was just a little short of beating Mr. Luck;)

Unfortunately, the tournament was a bit neglected, so to speak, as life has been very demanding in the last couple of months. But overall, I think it went very well:smile19:

I would also like to express my huge gratitude to "SKD" for their help in organizing this tournament, judging, and everything else:smile01: :smile01: :smile02: :smile02:
