Guys, it's mid-January, and there's practically no information about CIS 2017. I'd like to know if there are any people interested in organizing it, even though it's not a particularly rewarding task. Or should we start making other plans for May? If anyone is considering it, please post in this thread. The main thing is not to delay, as it's very difficult to organize such an event in just a couple of months. Maybe some helpers will appear. I can offer advice based on my experience organizing CIS 2016, so that we don't repeat the same mistakes.
Of course, I would have liked to visit Sochi, or perhaps Abkhazia (as Num suggested once) during the May holidays, but it seems we don't have much of a choice this year. So, I'm up for anything!

Hello everyone, the idea of holding a tournament in Sochi came from me, and I'm ready to take on the organization. So, let's decide: we have an almost ready organizing committee for Yekaterinburg, and we also have the option of the city of Sochi. I'm waiting for a decision from our friendly team.

Sash, could you provide a bit more detail about Sochi? What should we expect? How much more expensive will it be compared to Volgograd? Ideally, we should start buying tickets soon (at least, that's when I usually bought them – late January, early February). As you know, Albert won't be able to say in Sochi anymore: "Bro, just 5 minutes and everything will be sorted out"
Kostya, take a look at the situation regarding Sochi. To negotiate with someone there about something, you need to go there and assess the situation on the ground, negotiate discounts, and so on. If the community approves holding the event in Sochi, I'm ready to go there on January 28th for three or four days, and then we'll have concrete details by February 5th. It's not entirely appropriate to present figures now (especially knowing the value of the word of local businessmen).

What poll are you talking about? What are you referring to? Fine, let's say we vote for Sochi, and then what? What's the plan, what facilities are included, and what's the final cost? The same applies to Yekaterinburg. Without a presentation and at least some kind of budget, voting is pointless.
I agree about Sochi. You can try to emphasize "playing the game seriously" as much as you want, but usually only about 10 people or so take the game seriously (mostly those who have a chance of winning medals). The rest are just having fun, and there are always many more of them. And for a relaxing vacation, I think Sochi is a better choice than Yekaterinburg.

The organizers for Sochi and Yekaterinburg are serious people and know what to expect in terms of the budget for the upcoming Community event. The probability that the price will be inflated by at least 15-20 percent compared to some average cost of accommodation, food, rent, and other services is minimal. So, it's important to find out in advance where the Community wants to hold the next event. And then, from a logistical and preliminary pricing perspective, Sasha has a more difficult and expensive task in Sochi than Sergei in Yekaterinburg: he's at home, while Sasha still has to travel to Sochi to find out the preliminary price. Therefore, it will most likely depend on which location, Sochi or Yekaterinburg, is more convenient, cheaper, and faster for the players...
The price in Sochi will probably be higher. The weather in May in Sochi is about 5-6 degrees warmer than in Yekaterinburg, but there may be much more precipitation than in the Urals during May. And, to be honest, the nature in the Urals is more beautiful than in Sochi, in my opinion :D
Get in touch with Aloun and Co. Extra hands wouldn't hurt.
What extra hands?)) The hands are exactly where they need to be)))
Regarding organizing the event – I was just talking to Mee the other day about a Heroes gathering in Yekaterinburg. They used to be held regularly with a good turnout, and the bar of the same Mee was often emptied (with at least 10 types of tequila). Now everyone is bogged down in family matters and has "disappeared," but for such an event, they will rise from the dead.
Regarding the ban on alcohol at the event – I support it.
I suggest the "Grand horse" restaurant at the equestrian sports base – 7 km from Yekaterinburg. I think we should discuss it informally first.
