The problem is that it's inconvenient to use the editor, and the method for creating clean files doesn't help!

If you want to create random maps within the game itself, specifically in SoD, it seems like that's not possible. This feature is available in AB.

I suggest an original method: first, install wog, and then manually delete all the wog files. This will enable random map generation.

AB (Armageddon's Blade), RoE (Restoration of Erathia), SoD (Shadow of Death), WoG (Wake of Gods) – these are all parts of the third game, just like RoC and TFT are related to DotA. Just get Armageddon, and you're good to go. Or, if you need new maps, download them from the internet; there are plenty of them available.

Everything works for me. Did you put them in the right places? h3blade.exe in the root folder of Heroes, and h3ab_ahd.snd, h3ab_ahd.vid, h3ab_bmp.lod, h3ab_spr.lod in the DATA folder? Did you use the files I uploaded?

The topic can't be glitching because of my post. Everything is working perfectly for me.

Is patching required to play up to Wrath of the Gods? It requires changing the system language and country...

As already mentioned, there are 3 ways:
1) Install SOD over Armageddon's Blade.
2) Create zero files.
3) Install WOG on top of SOD.
All 3 methods work, but the easiest one is the second.

Upload "zero" files? I've already uploaded them. Here they are again.

By the way, I didn't bother with the zero-byte files and copied their game counterparts instead; now I have a symbiosis—specifically, in the SoD menu you can select Campaigns from Armageddon and play them without any issues. The only thing is that the SoD version is higher (3.2), which means everything is bug-free! Old Armageddon saves also work in SoD; furthermore, maps and campaigns created in Armageddon now load properly, whereas many wouldn't load before!

There was a version of SoD 3.2 Original Eng, and everything was OK.

as tinya said, to get the map editor in SoD, you can install it in the folder with Armageddon's Blade, but I also recommend this to those who overwrote SoD with WoG and can't restore SoD (meaning it constantly writes in WoG) - I did it myself, and in addition to this, it also combines the campaigns of SoD and Armageddon - it's very convenient, I recommend it to everyone.
