Hello everyone, here's the thing: I've been playing Heroes for about 10 years, I haven't been active on your forum, so I've been learning the game on my own with friends. I used to play through various campaigns, but now I play with friends against the AI or alone against the AI. We always create a random map with the maximum number of XL opponents, without water (I really hate water in Heroes). The monster strength is high, the difficulty is King or Queen, there are no restrictions or rules. Recently, we've been playing without Necropolis and without Diplomacy. Must-have skills in every game: Earth Magic, Air Magic, Wisdom, and Logistics. Battles usually involve shooting everything down with ranged units, while a warrior with high speed circles the entire battlefield. The main spells we use in battle are Blessing, Slow, Haste, Blindness, Dispel, and occasionally Lightning Bolt. During castle sieges, we always stay in the fortress, relying on archers to kill everyone. In battles, we also use Time Stop and Protection when needed. We develop all castles almost identically. In the first week, we always get archers, and depending on the castle, we also get a regular warrior (for example, for Stronghold: crossbowmen and Knights). Then we build towards Citadel and then everything for the Capitol, including the Capitol itself. That's a brief overview of my gameplay. Fellow Heroes players, give me some criticism and advice on skill development... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- P.s. I won't be able to play online against other players, my internet connection won't allow it, and I probably don't know many aspects of the game that are discussed on the forum.
That is, of course, if you can handle it with your internet connection.
But in general, it's better to play and experience everything yourself. And get a specific answer to each specific question that arises.
And if briefly, the basic principles are: first build troops, then focus on money. The Capitol is usually not built, and 2000 resources are rarely spent on it.
Many heroes - scouting and clearing the map. Work in chains. Maintain the pace (game pace, not days). And so on.
I'm not a father, of course, but I have some idea :D

Why warriors? Don't you have enough resources to buy an army without a capital? I was just playing on Level 3 of a campaign, and I won by month 4. I was playing as the Swamp faction on the Damure map, and in the first week, I bought gnolls and wyverns as warriors.

I have enough :D There are crypts, dwarven mines, and medusa lairs – we gather gold from there. And it just lies around, you just need to collect it. As a rule, I build levels 1-6 in a city or castle. "Why warriors?" because your hero will be leveled up due to battles, you will have troops, and you will have money. In your case (capital), there will only be hope for money and a big waste of time. 4 months is insanely long, even for HotA. A month is more than enough, and for computers, it's even less.

Haha... 1) When it's evening for you, it's morning for me; 2) when you're playing online, listening to music on VK, and downloading a movie, I'm trying to conserve traffic (1 GB at a speed of 512 KB/s per month).
