An hour and a half spent standing on the Ugra River only led to a clear understanding that the Tatar-Mongol army was not going to move anywhere, and therefore, the loyal subjects of its fire-breathing highness launched a risky attack, which was successful, largely due to a fortunate combination of circumstances, and partly due to the advantages of the proud Novgorod dragonkin against the hordes of nomads. The bloody battle ended with the Mongol Khan fleeing from the besieged palace to the western borders of his vast possessions and bravely dying on the battlefield, desperately resisting the surrounding enemy forces.
