I visited the Musical Theater (I hadn't even heard of it before) and saw the revue "Life is Beautiful." The show was hosted by Mikhail Shvydkoy, the former Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. The performers worked honestly and skillfully. However, several ten-minute monologues by the host made me remember that not everything we sincerely consider interesting actually is. And, unfortunately, not everything improves with age... When I approached the theater, something immediately felt off. When I entered, the bells were already ringing. When I climbed the stairs, I realized I was right. Yes, I found myself in Gorbushka, that very Gorbushka where, a quarter of a century ago, the person who became Qwerty used to sneak in to attend concerts.

Visited Cinema Park DeLuxe. The VIP zone in the first hall is quite decent, and the screen isn't small by today's standards (although it's certainly not as large as the screen at the Kinotsentr before the renovation, or even the screen in Prague before the reconstruction. But overall, the screen is a normal size, especially from the VIP zone).
But! For the first time in this century, I walked out of a movie. It was called "Wonderland," and it will be released soon.
I feel sorry for the actors, but I feel even more sorry for the audience...

I watched "Fantastic Beasts" in IMAX 3D. The film is quite good, but it's not "Harry Potter."
By the way, the 8:30 AM (half past eight in the morning) showing on a Sunday, on the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road), where there are no residential buildings nearby, had a full house.

Not surprising, it’s the cheapest showing.

Today, while walking through the metro transfer between Chekhovskaya and Tverskaya stations, I heard an unfamiliar band called "Never mind the Balalayka" playing. It was very stylish.

Watched "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" in IMAX. Professionally made, well-executed, and of high quality. But it lacks that certain spark. It's not on par with the masterpieces of 1977-1984 (Episodes 4-6 of Star Wars); it's simply a well-crafted exploitation of the franchise. That's how it is.
