We had a cat in our yard, and I called her Taburetochnaya (meaning "Little Stool Cat") because she would sit on a stool that we put out for her all day long. She was a fluffy cat, but also proud – she didn't beg or steal. Her eyes were very human, and her voice wasn't like a cat's at all. She would kind of talk, saying "mrya-mi-mi-mya-mrya," which was like her way of saying hello and that she was glad to see you. She was a very smart and kind creature... Taburetochnaya was run over by a car... We are all grieving, even me... It's not that I don't have family... But this cat never criticized or scolded me; she just seemed happy to see me, and she loved me and other good people... What kind of a vile person would do such a thing...? People can be such monsters! What harm do cats do to them? Recently, a cyclist almost ran over a cat on purpose; he was laughing as the cat ran away from under the wheels. I almost punched him in the face, but he rode away, and thankfully (I don't want to spend 15 days in jail), it ended with me just yelling at him. People were tormenting cats with dogs until I intervened... What kind of creatures are they? Am I like that? Who is the real human being here? So why shouldn't I follow their example and strangle them, just as they destroy innocent animals? And besides, these cat-haters are GUILTY of the cats' fate! We all condemn the fascists for destroying people because they were of a different race... How are cat-haters any better? Why doesn't anyone protect animals, even though this cat was a hundred times better than some people? I've decided that I won't stand by and watch; I simply don't have the moral right to do so. I would lose respect for myself if I could tolerate this injustice. It's so sad... Of course, I can't bring Taburetochnaya back... it's so sad...

If any of the cat-haters read this and don't change their attitude towards life, I hope there is a God in this world, and he won't leave this unpunished. And I won't let it go unpunished, as much as I can.

That's how you should treat cats... especially considering your nickname and previous avatar ;) And if you don't agree with the statement about freedom, I was referring to those animals that have been domesticated by humans.

I've always loved dogs and disliked cats, but it turned out that I never had a dog, while I regularly kept cats. You get used to them. I had a cat named Puha. When she died, I cried. Now I have another pet. His name is Saks. A cheeky Brit. No matter what, he's almost a member of the family. When we went on vacation, he was very worried, even though he pretends to be independent. He was so offended that it took a month to restore our relationship. They understand a lot and feel a lot. I don't consider people who mistreat animals to be people at all; they are just worthless trash.

What have I done to offend you? Did I write anywhere that cats are superior to ALL animals? I won't stand by if someone simply beats a dog or otherwise mistreats it, but a dog will bite back in response. A cat is much more defenseless in that sense.

As for superiority, you didn't write that, but again - it should have been addressed to all animals, otherwise some "smart" people will find a way and create a thread for "dog-haters" or other animal haters (no offense intended)...

I don't have any pets at home, but I love both cats and dogs equally. My friend has two cats; one is named Murka, and the other is Zver. :D
