Posts from [POLL] AK and other weapon customization
How will we go on from here?
We should consider creating a poll about this... Let's decide with a simple vote. Simple, for crying out loud!
Could someone remind me what the abbreviation "AK" stands for?
За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
Where is the point "Vik isn't even slightly annoyed?" :D Or is it hidden in the topic title? :D
I think it could be allowed to start digging for it from the first week, with this change:
- The cross on the map appears only after the entire map has been revealed, in any location on the map, and not strictly in the center.
This will minimize randomness and delay the Grail rush on small maps, and on large maps, it will eliminate the guessing game. For example, two obelisks are revealed, but with clear distinguishing features; the player sends a couple of heroes to the center of the presumed area and digs up the desired object in a few days - this is not ideal, in my opinion.
If it is technically feasible, I would be all for it.
In my opinion, the Grail is a classic element, and it shouldn't be nerfed.
Regarding the Grail.
I think it's possible to allow digging from the first week, with this change:
- The cross on the map appears only after the entire map has been explored, in any location on the map, not just in the center.

The player sends a couple of heroes to the center of the supposed area and digs up the desired object in a few days - this doesn't seem right to me.

Spending several days digging is a loss of tempo. You still need to transport it and place it - and you put it there so nicely, but on the seventh day of the week, your opponent overwhelms you because while you were digging for the Grail, the opponent had already taken over the map.

The skill of digging for the Grail has absolutely no bearing on the game.
Actually, we played an unforgettable series with Twaryna, where you could start digging for it from the first week. Ask him how many times the Grail was ultimately placed?
If we're talking about sportsmanship, then we should eliminate cons, hives, and utopias (because one player places 4 cons one after another on respawn, while the other has a couple of mini-hives; one player gets control in utopia, while the other gets a collection of sea creatures).

Lil. In this case, the number of obelisks required to unlock the map should be reduced to 6, so that it makes at least some sense. And with your "change," you won't even achieve that by the sixth week, because the game will be over by then.

With my proposed option, you can reduce not the number of obelisks on the map, but the number of obelisks that need to be visited to obtain the map with the cross, to, say, 8-10 (and then fine-tune it during testing). The Grail should not be a means of achieving victory, but only one of the strategic options that can be used under certain circumstances, something like, "managed to win thanks to archdevils." There are very few such reports and games, but the strategic option exists, and the same applies to the Grail.
Spending several days on excavations is a loss of tempo – that's really "lame." Or do all 8 heroes, led by the boss, go on excavations? It's like an archaeological expedition. The "opponent comes on the 7th day" is also from the same category.
Several days of excavation – that’s a loss of tempo, and that’s what’s really annoying. Or do you send all 8 heroes, led by the chieftain, to excavate? It’s like an archaeological expedition. And then the opponent shows up on day 7, it’s the same thing.
And on such maps, the two heroes you sent to excavate will slow down the map processing by 15-25 percent.
It takes two days to excavate one Grail – to stand on the cell, then to dig: on average, you will dig, taking into account the radius of the crosshair from the center of the screen – about 10 days with two heroes. And then you still have to transport it...
So, do the math, accountant...
And here’s another important point about the Grail. The only case when it should not be possible to excavate it at all is if it is buried on the starting location of one of the players.

Why is digging allowed from the 5th week in the Graal poll, when the rules currently allow digging from the 6th week?
I immediately noticed this typo, but unfortunately, editing the starting post does not allow editing the options in the poll.
Therefore, "from the 5th week" should be read as "from the 6th week".
