My name is Artem. I like it, but it doesn't quite match my last name. My last name is Antonov, which is why I'm often called Anton.

Because of your activity on the forum, I've been given the nicknames "Darth" and "Sar"... before that, everyone called me "Petrovich" or just "Petro"... it's progress, of course, but in what direction?:)

My name is actually Fedya, and my nickname is Fyodor :) I don't know why, but friends usually call me that. I prefer Fedya. Actually, there's another, even crazier option - Fedon (this came about after studying philosophy - there's a character with that name in one of Plato's dialogues).

In school, they called me Polyak or Mangust, and I studied in both classes. They would make fun of my last name, and I was small and mean until 9th grade. In the army, they called me "bratko," but generally, I'm just Alex in life. Sometimes my teammate calls me Dust. I chose this nickname based on my name, so I wouldn't have to think too much about it.

And for some reason, no nickname ever stuck with me throughout my life...
The nickname Kreesanya, as I mentioned somewhere before, comes from the Dragonlance Saga – I liked the sound of the name, and the character also resembles me in some ways.

and my nickname, which I just randomly chose for my in-game name, became Kefirych... people probably just read the non-Russian letters differently =)

and my aunt in the village used to call me Smetana when I was a child because of my always pale and fair skin...

so, that's how I ended up with these dairy-related nicknames :D

At school, they called me "baldy" because I often got my hair cut very short. When I played football, they called me "killer," I don't know why. But now, for many years, they've been calling me "Book." I guess it just stuck!

My nickname in childhood was Prince (who would have thought?); then, after the release of the Goblin Lord Sarumyan (my last name is similar), and in computer clubs, I was known as Omega.

Yeah, and my nickname became Hex or Heck.

Be grateful it wasn't Chuks or Chuk :D

My name is Lera. I really don't like my name... When I was a child, everyone tried to call me Vera or Lena. And Valeria is even worse! Like the singer... :(

Actually, the names aren't as scary as the surnames... oh, the things you can hear... It's terrifying...

As for the name, I'll say this: love it. After all, your favorite person will say it often, and you should like that... :rolleyes: :smile02:

I'm Ilya! Are you Ilya? Are you all Ilya?? Are they Ilya??? It's the most wonderful name. Though, I really don't like being called Ilyukha:mad: (hello, Krueger).

I really hate it when people call me "Shurik," and this one guy came up with something even worse – "Shurandiy," which is just ridiculous.
My friend had a girl in his old school named Lena Golovach, and she absolutely hated being called by her first and last name in the school register...
