I found a tomb on the map where you can exchange artifacts for experience.

Oh! Yesterday, I finally got my hands on the game... what can I say? IMHO, it's "THE BEST"! Honestly, it's a game where I liked absolutely EVERYTHING!... The upgrade system is amazing... the graphics are a 5 out of 5... I liked the feature of "releasing" neutral creatures and gaining real experience... The AI is top-notch... Honestly, even the gargoyle didn't annoy me...
In short, the game is definitely awesome... with the release of the patch with the map editor, it's 100% a hit for a couple of years...
The only downside in a day (or rather, a night) is that they didn't include a "fixing" feature, like in "Max Payne," i.e., the camera automatically rotates to where the hero is going, because in the Dungeon, it's "slightly" tiring to turn around...
In short, "Nival is on fire"...
The only thing I don't understand is HOW THEY WILL MAKE MONEY IN THE CIS??? A day after the release, everyone had "cracked" versions!!! 8)

There has been a lot of talk about this, but rumors say that the strongest creature is Leonid Boyarsky. Think about it - Cavalry bonus, mustache attack on 3 cells + psychedelic voice with a hoarse sound, hates Gardemarines + thanks gamers for the day and night spent playing...

I don't remember if I wrote this or not, but I'll say it anyway. An acquaintance of mine came over who had never even heard of Heroes, hadn't played 3, hadn't played 2 either, and didn't even suspect the existence of MM. I showed him Heroes 5, specifically the Castle and Academy. He really liked the graphics, how the town was depicted, the ability to create your own artifacts for warriors, and he especially liked the creature models—specifically the gremlin, the nightstand (which didn't even make him laugh!!! He took it quite seriously!), the Colossus, golems, and everything, everything, everything. He even noticed that while casting a spell, the mages pluck a hair from their beard!!! I thought he was joking, then I looked closer, and indeed!!!!!! Anyway, the next day he called and said he bought Heroes 5 (before this, he didn't acknowledge any strategy games at all!) and wants me to help him with development and other such stuff! Now he simply can't get enough of Heroes!!!

yes, it has been mentioned several times who the game was developed for :)
and, of course, it's a pity that the opinions of veterans don't fully align with your friend's opinion :(

Here is our opinion: we should leave everything as it is. But I have already imagined what it would be like if nothing had changed since the first Heroes game, or even since King's Bounty!

Our opinion was to leave everything unchanged. But I've already imagined what it would be like if nothing had changed since the times of Heroes 1x, not even since King's Bounty!

There are things that cannot be changed. For example, the interface. Even now, new fans of Heroes will not be able to play parts 1-4. The gap is enormous. I don't think I need to explain why;)
I'll add my own thoughts. Playing 5 is very difficult for me. If the Warcraft interface isn't hard to master, then the appalling minimap and MOST IMPORTANTLY - THE ABSENCE OF THE "KINGDOM OVERVIEW" BUTTON - is simply anti-humanism. Without this button, I cannot imagine a Heroes game:(
As a continuation of the series, Heroes 5 is a failure. As a standalone game - it's actually quite decent. (not imho)

I think I found a building where you can buy them... And as for the fact that they can't be sold... I haven't tried that yet...

Back in the day, I got some info from DE (Dmitry Estrin) that artifacts can be sold, and secondly, that mini-artifacts can also be sold. But this was before the beta, and then I was banned for a long time. Maybe everything has changed :(

to Katrin The interface really didn't turn out well. And the lack of a "kingdom overview" isn't such a big loss, but I'll miss that button. I was also very disappointed by the absence of a table of records. :(

It is. But it can thrive in different directions... figuratively speaking :) Right now, the developers probably had the task not to develop existing stereotypes by improving and expanding them, but to use the foundation of a more popular version from the series and add details that would attract armies of new fans. As you have already noticed, the game is too cartoonish and, in terms of design, tends towards numerous Eastern cultures...

If you're talking about the wells in Heroes of Might and Magic V, they're still there. They just look like mushrooms now!
