I don't even remember which faction I played as for the first time – it was back in '97. But as far as I recall, I played as both. However, I couldn't manage to complete the campaign without cheats – it's just too difficult.
P.S. But I like Archibald more. He has a mustache just like my dad's!
Roland, of course! Because he's a good guy:), and Archibald is evil:mad: True, but later in the last level there was a cool twist - the sphinx asks, "Who is the true king?", and the correct answer is "Archibald"... It makes you think...

I played as both, and I completed the game in different ways, clearing out the optional levels. The most interesting levels are either transitional or mandatory.
My favorite level is the last one for Roland (where you have to kill Archibald in the castle and have more than 100 Chaos Dragons).
I remember that at the end of the game, instead of using Roland, I created a powerful hero from a companion I had, and then bought him in the tavern. It was Jaclyn, level 33, with very good secondary skills. Roland was only level 30 or 28.
In general, I liked Jaclyn the most in the second part (maybe that's why after this incident).
I chose Archibald, if only because of how he was voiced in the Russian version of the game, and because of the video where there was a poster: "Archibald is our king."

Archibald is the eldest son, and the throne rightfully belongs to him; he was just afraid that because of his fascination with black magic, they might not make him king.
I played as both, and completed the game in different ways, and cleared the optional levels.

Ple-Sen - I always thought that Roland was the elder son. The storyline doesn't explicitly state this; it just seems that way because when they are introduced, Roland is mentioned first, and usually, they start with the eldest.
Based on their appearance, Roland looks to be around 20-30 years old, while Archibald is 30-40. Plus, I read this somewhere.
Well, he is a black mage after all :) It's like aging him; by 50, he'll already turn into a lich :D

I played as both... I think the most difficult mission is conquering the dragons (I replayed it more than 10 times).
What story?! Or maybe Archibald won, and then became good? Maybe that's what happened?:D :smile26: And I agree about the mission; I replayed it about 5 times myself! But when I was about 6 years younger, I couldn't stand it and used cheat codes! and became like this: -:smile47:
