Simple and commonplace.
Paroxius:
Biography:
As a descendant of a free people, Paroxius spent his childhood hunting and fishing with his father. Like his ancestors, he lived in the forest, occasionally visiting the city. However, nothing there particularly interested him. The boy loved listening to his father's stories about their ancestors and how they served the Emperor of the Ataraxian Empire faithfully, despite their origins. Even after the empire’s collapse, they remained true to the Emperor's commandments, passing them down from generation to generation.
Almost every day, Paroxius learned everything necessary for survival in the wild. He studied animal behavior, tracking skills, setting traps, knowledge of plants and their properties, forest routes, and trails. He also mastered archery, which came very naturally to him, unlike his father, who wasn't much of a hunter. Despite this, he managed to obtain valuable furs from rare animals, selling them to provide enough income for himself and his son to live comfortably without skimping on good equipment.
Curious Paroxius carefully examined the tracks of an injured animal that would soon die from poison. Determining its route, he headed north but noticed a body in a ditch while jumping over it. The partially decomposed remains were not of particular interest, but a small bag clutched in the dead man's hands caught the young man's attention. Inside, he found several gold coins and a strange medallion with a purple stone. It didn't seem particularly valuable, and when a jeweler in town offered a decent (by Paroxius' standards) sum for it, the naive youth agreed without hesitation. He brought the money home and told his father the story, who simply smiled kindly, patted the boy on the shoulder, and said that the medallion with the purple stone could have been sold for ten times more.
By the time he reached adulthood, Paroxius had explored every corner of his native forest and learned everything possible about the woodland area. His old father no longer hunted and peacefully lived out his days, and when he quietly died in his bed, Paroxius buried him in a clearing in the middle of an oak grove. He decided to pursue what he had dreamed of since childhood. That incident with the medallion awakened in him a thirst for treasure hunting, a thirst for adventure. He was interested not so much in the valuables of past centuries as in the process of searching for them. Gathering all his savings and necessary belongings, he set off on a journey through the kingdom. In ten years of wandering, Paroxius visited many cities and various places in the state. He learned a lot, experienced a lot, and, of course, found quite a few treasures. But the passion only grew stronger…
