Monstrous Night
Night fell over Ta-Kemet, but
Heroist could not fall asleep. Wishing to pass the time, he invited one of the dancers to his quarters. She showcased her skills for a long time, and until the break of dawn,
Heroist thought of nothing else.
Ursula sat by the window admiring the night sky when a large falcon landed softly beside her. At night, these proud flyers usually sleep, but the falcon seemed alert, readily accepted a treat from the girl's hand, and even allowed itself to be petted.
Today,
Rudy was visiting the realm of the dead. He had been summoned there against his will, but was received very hospitably.
Rudy spent a wonderful night and, returning to the world of the living in the morning, went to nap for a while. He had absolutely no desire to ask about the night's events, and even less could he know that someone had been interested in him.
But the night's events were truly sorrowful. Tonight, a terrifying tragedy unfolded in the Temple of Bastet.
RiMpel2 finished the evening prayer (more out of habit, as there was no longer a need to serve the goddess of joy) and wanted to go for a walk around the Castle, as was his custom, but he was stopped by a formidable roar. A huge lioness, blazing with fire, lunged at
RiMpel2. He let out a piercing scream.
MyHighness, who was passing by, recognized the scream and instantly rushed into the temple, but it was too late – a single blow of the paw from the enraged deity was enough to knock the spirit out of the young, fragile creature. Seeing
MyHighness run to the mangled body of her beloved, the goddess froze, as if realizing that in a fit of blind rage she had killed an innocent girl. Despite all her cruelty and bloodthirstiness, the lioness was not stupid, so she deemed it best to withdraw, accidentally brushing a relief depicting Ptah with her tail. While
MyHighness was recovering from the shock, another monster burst into the temple, crushing everything in its path. The valiant warrior drew a bow, not intending to surrender without a fight this time, but the arrows merely bounced off the beast's hide. Huge crocodile teeth easily crushed the armor and bit the heir to the throne in half. The soul-devourer departed as quickly and noisily as it had arrived, smashing a statue of the goddess Input during its flight. The grief of Kahotep and Userit, upon learning what had happened, cannot be put into words.
RiMpel2 and
MyHighness died with dignity, and who knows, perhaps in the realm of Osiris they will find their happiness together…
