To be honest, I personally don't understand what bothers you more: a constantly dissatisfied wife or resentment towards the game because, despite playing for so long, you still haven't reached the top.
And after all this time, you've been on the resource, you should have learned how to play Heroes by now, but the way you play is sad. :(
Or, when you play, play, play - for about 10 hours, or even 12, and then it comes and says, "So, how did you do?", and you say, "Well, I lost," and it replies, "Aaaah, you're a noob, a loser, lol, you got owned, and why even play them if you always lose?" :D
Сейчас балуюсь этим https://vcmi.eu/download/ За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
As an option, you could bring your wife to a Heroes session – the opinion that "all Heroes players are idiots" will most likely change drastically))
I imagine my wife coming for the first 2 days of the Kyiv Open Cup. I think she would have a completely opposite opinion).
Когда рестартов не осталось, обязательно ждите Гурниссона без балисты:D

Right now, I'm playing poker, the little one is sleeping, the older one is doing homework, my wife is in the kitchen, making a pie and pilaf. Guests will be arriving soon, and everyone is in their place:D And by the way, I know how to cook and I enjoy it, and I often take over for her and cook, even while my opponent is taking their turn!
Exactly! During other players' turns, I even manage to get some work done. Simultaneous turns will ruin this game for many.
Subtracting 2-3 hours from the game session only harms the players!
Well, in reality, Cobra's words contain some truth. If there is no break between turns, there will be no opportunity to do things during another player's turn. But on the other hand, simultaneous turns will last a maximum of 116-117 turns, so it's not that critical.

For me, January 25, 2014, started with them telling me: "Pack your things and go home" (I live with my wife and her parents; I don't see the point in living separately) and play your Heroes there!:smile51: She can be understood because I repeatedly promised to play less, but it turns out that there's always a tournament, 10 old matches in the season – I need to catch up, and another tournament. :D Lider1

+1 This also happens. Sometimes it's frustrating, especially when they kill you without a fair fight.

My wife, on the contrary, "encouraged" me to play online. :)
We were sitting together in the evening, as usual, while our daughter was asleep, each of us pursuing our own hobby: she was embroidering, and I was playing Heroes on the computer. And she asked why I wasn't playing with other people. What could I say? I last played online around 2005, on Heroesportal and the then-still-active Heroes.by, and I wasn't particularly successful...
"Don't worry," she encouraged me.
"Try it. You're getting bored playing against the computer..."
And so, I put WOG away, dusted off TE, and... it turns out that everything has "slightly" changed over the years!
HD-mod, WT, Hota... Only Hamachi remains familiar.
Now, in the evenings, while our child is dreaming, my wife quietly engages in her forums/websites, embroidery, and knitting, and I can play my favorite game for 3+ hours. We only agreed not to play during the day, if possible. But even then, there's always something to do with the child - she's almost 3 years old, and everything is interesting to her. :)
So, I think the main "secret" is to relieve her of some of the household chores (I happily cook, go shopping, and vacuum, and the first and third can be combined with playing the game); and to find her some hobby (books, toys, forums, movies - anything). For me, a small secret is what other wives do in the evenings while the child is sleeping?:) Do they also go to bed at 9-10?
"Одержать сто побед в ста битвах — это не вершина воинского искусства. Повергнуть врага без сражения — вот вершина. "Сущность войны — обман. Искусный должен изображать неумелость. При готовности атаковать демонстрируй подчинение. Когда ты близок — кажись далёким, но когда ты очень далеко — притворись, будто ты рядом."
The topic should be renamed to "Henpecked players in Heroes" :) Because the vast majority don't write about how they manage to find time for the game while having a family, but about how, when, and how much time their wife allows them to play, or when she's not around/when she's not yelling, so they can play. It's amusing.
And yes, if you spend 4 evenings a week, 5-6 hours each, on the game, then it's understandable why you're getting scolded. Wasting so much time is too much. You need to set some limits; you're not children anymore, there should be some priorities. I don't have a family, but even in my best years (the best for Heroes), I didn't spend that much time on this game.
I have three children, a 6-year-old and two 3-month-olds. They complain, but they tolerate it; although, playing now is also rare. I play at the expense of my sleep, thankfully I work one day and then have two days off at home. I am a lawyer by education, I worked in the police force for 12 years, then I was convicted, and now I am an ambulance driver.
I'll say it again to those "family-oriented" people...
Just like in that poem: Everything is laid out as it is, shocking those who can't stand up or sit down.
Added 3 minutes later bubuch

I told my whole life story in one sentence. ;)
