I completed 1 Necropolis mission, but in the 2nd mission, some artifacts disappeared, and some remained. Is that how it's supposed to be?
If the opponent is of the same faction as you (both are Necromancers), then when you kill the enemy, you can revive/resurrect him in your tavern, but his movement animation is disrupted – he immediately appears at the location indicated by the mouse – that is, the horse doesn't gallop, and the ship doesn't sail.
It may also be that the Necromancer didn't have any castles at the time the hero was defeated.
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen; I could continue playing normally, but this is infuriating.
Regarding its discovery:
I was playing a duel game with Haven against Demons. I killed some summoned Hellhounds using a portal, and then... THE HOUND STOOD STILL! IT WAS DEAD!!!

So, how do you deal with this? I haven't updated the game since summer. Now I decided to play, and this is what happened.
From my experience, the bug where textures are replaced with black and white squares occurs when the maximum texture size (quality) is set. Other settings don't matter, and if the graphics card is weak, you can set it to minimum or maximum... it doesn't really matter.
Apparently, the low-resolution texture pack is either missing or has errors, or the issue is caused by installing the game after/on top of the demo, which leaves traces in the registry/settings.
Good luck with the game :)
I suspect that everything is locked because I have 6 heroes from the Book version, while Shades of Darkness is the Steam version... and I can't enter the Book key in the Steam version... what should I do, comrades?
The map starts displaying like this from the very beginning:
Everything seems darkened, and you can only make out some outlines and a flickering effect. It's impossible to play like this.
I've been messing around with the video settings in the game, changing them, running it in windowed mode, but nothing seems to help.
The game itself is a licensed version, and I've already completed all the campaigns, and I've never experienced anything like this before.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

And also, be sure to increase the graphics settings (Intel HD Graphics).

Hmm... It turns out it's even more interesting! To get rid of this, you need to change the resolution in the game (while playing).
I have three Inferno castles, each producing 16 dogs (unupgraded), plus a breeding pit for 6 dogs. In total, it should be 16*3+6=54, but in reality, it's 32. The same problem occurs with other creatures.
I'm playing mission 1 of campaign 5 (angel angel burning fear).
Are you sure that each town gives 16? Don't forget about the influence of fortifications and special weeks.
