A Dark Day
Today brought much grief and pain to the Forest. Even its most courageous inhabitants were horrified. In the middle of the night, everyone was awakened by a loud creak, and the Forest witnessed how
Sky was shedding its withering leaves before their very eyes, and its branches were twisting and turning black in an ugly way. Such a sight left few indifferent, but despite all the efforts of the forest dwellers,
Sky was no longer with them. Some remembered the black spiders that were scurrying around its roots yesterday, and others – the song by The Beatles that sounded from somewhere.
But, unfortunately,
Sky was not the only victim.
Ment, while flying around its swamp, noticed some new mushroom and, delighted with the find, landed on it. He hoped that the mushroom would be poisonous, and to some extent, his hopes were not in vain. As soon as
Ment’s feet touched the cap, dozens of large black and red spiders jumped out from under it. They attacked their victim from all sides, biting every inch of its body, and then devoured it, leaving only a dried-up shell and a melody by Zimmer playing in the air. Another victim was
Morning. While picking the largest and most delicious berries for its friends, it did not notice how its paw got into a black, spiky loop, and when it tried to break free, it was too late – the spikes pierced its flesh and tore it apart. Before dying,
Morning cast a hateful glance at the maliciously laughing
Neira Drake, who was sitting on an improvised throne made of intertwined branches. At first, she did not pay attention to this, but then she somehow became dejected and coughed. A terrible thought flashed through her mind, and she lifted the hem of her dress to see yesterday's bite, which she had not paid attention to. The thought was confirmed – the place of the bite was swollen and blackened, and the poison had already spread throughout
Neira Drake’s body. The fairy felt dizzy, and
Neira Drake fell to the ground, breaking leaves. Those who arrived at the scene of the tragedy in the morning found a piece of a ticket to a performance by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the blackened body.
Evil Lizard learned about everything only in the morning, when it managed to break the ice barrier at the entrance to its dwelling.
Guru was less fortunate – it turned out to be locked in a block of ice. And only
Arandor played carefree with a rabbit all night and looked calm.

Yesterday, I didn't take something into account in the newspaper, but I didn't correct it, because it didn't turn out to be something very critical. Today, I seem to have checked everything, rechecked it, and it seems to be correct, but I'm not completely sure. If I messed something up again, I apologize.
