Wicc, with all due respect to you as an experienced player, the statement that there are exactly 126 elements in the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements is completely incorrect for several reasons:
1. There is no upper limit to the system, i.e., there is no "last element." The system is open, and according to current methods, it is possible to synthesize new elements with larger numbers (although there is virtually no practical use for this: they all decay in fractions of a second).
2. Of all the synthesized elements, only the 115th element has been officially recognized by the scientific community: The Periodic Table will be supplemented with the 115th element. Note the publication date: August 28, 2013.
All subsequent elements are still quite ephemeral (superactinides are purely theoretical). They are no more real than unobtanium.
In 2010, with the synthesis of element 117, the seventh period of the periodic table was completed, and the problem of the lower limit of Mendeleev's table remains one of the most important in modern theoretical chemistry.
This is considering that I studied in school a long time ago and have largely forgotten chemistry (although it was my favorite subject in high school).
