I have the full version of Heroes of Might and Magic VI, but not all factions are available in skirmish mode. Is this because I haven't completed the campaigns for those factions yet?

In online mode, the following heroes are available: unique ones, depending on the edition you purchased; central heroes from the campaigns you have completed; those purchased on the "Altar of Wishes"; and those created directly by you.
In offline mode, 10 heroes are available (Haven, Necropolis, Inferno, Stronghold, Sanctuary), and 12 (the same + Dungeon) – after deleting the "DynastyData" file before launching the application in this mode.

I bought a licensed copy of Heroes 6 for the New Year. I treated myself. Everything downloaded, connected, and activated on the first try. I can't play as Dungeon, Inferno, Castle, etc. In any scenario, only Necropolis, Fortress, and Swamp are available. There is a solution, and it’s quite simple. You can create heroes of any faction within your own dynasty. It wouldn’t hurt to complete the campaigns, after which you’ll gain access to their main heroes. Also, if you have enough in-game currency, you can confidently head to the store to purchase new commanders.

Question: What’s the point of these dynastic bonuses? What’s so special about them that you can’t get in the game or with cheats?

Without the dynasty bonuses, you won't get many unique heroes, all the pets, starting bonuses, and exclusive maps. If we go through them one by one, that's how it is. Unique heroes are appealing simply because they are unique. Sometimes their special abilities are also quite good. Pets can sometimes be quite helpful in your favor. For example, who, except your opponent, would mind having a black dragon in the early battles? Starting bonuses are extremely useful. For example, a reduced number of movement points required for teleporting to/between cities – isn't that a benefit? Maps – for variety. The "Heart of Nightmare" scenario is especially good. Periodically, the complete set of six expansions is offered with a significant discount, bringing its price down to around three hundred rubles, which, compared to the original eight hundred, looks very tempting. So, it's an option.

If you installed it from a disc, you probably need to patch it to the latest version 2.1.1.
Otherwise, it won't work with Uplay...
And Uplay itself should be the latest version.
