Chapter 2. The Exchange
The room was shrouded in darkness. Light rays couldn't penetrate the smog of the planet-city, so no one could see
Kaito, seated on the throne. But suddenly, it became brighter, and a second later, the glass shattered, letting in a burning escape pod. A man in a vest jumped out of it and exclaimed:
— Damn those Imperials! Well, let's move on to Plan B. I think I'm in the right building.
Kaito, who was meditating at the time, whispering the name
Zybr, was stunned by such audacity, and then he burst out laughing.
— Fool! — he exclaimed, raising his hands.
The unexpected guest winced in pain. With each second of exposure to the powerful impulse,
Phenix3's chances of survival rapidly diminished. Reinforcements arrived unexpectedly. The door burst open, and another, equally grim figure exclaimed:
— I will no longer obey your orders!
The newcomer drew a lightsaber and rushed at
Kaito.
— My naive apprentice! Without me, you...
The Sith froze mid-sentence, as several laser blasts turned his chest into a sieve. The one he called an apprentice approached
Phenix3 and saw that there was nothing left to be done: the shots were fired with his last breath. It became brighter again. A shuttle approached the broken window, hoping to pick up the mercenary who had completed the mission. But a completely different person left Coruscant with them.
The inhabitants of the Center watched the space battle in fascination, so no one noticed how one of them was being pursued by someone with a jetpack.
Drakkosha was unusually popular today. At one point, she was accompanied by one Imperial, and at another, another was pursuing her, unclear what he wanted.
