I decided to share my experience of completing this mission. After familiarizing myself with a walkthrough of this mission, I drew certain conclusions and proceeded as follows.
Initial stats:
- Warrior
- Path of Tears
Hero development:
1. Fireball 1 (up to level 4 - this is the only skill that can somehow help in eliminating enemy stacks. Upon reaching level 1 of Tears, I reset the skills and, instead of Fireball, developed the Counter-Strike branch).
2. Tactics 1 (allows for a more advantageous defense, in order to conduct battles without losses).
3. Reinforcement 1 (until the end of week 2, we try to complete the quest for war dogs - south of the neutral castle, after which the war dogs become a key stack. At the very beginning of the battle, we cast Reinforcement on the dogs and then, depending on the situation, we either immediately poison them towards the center or wait for the enemy stacks to approach. All computer attacks will be directed at the dogs, whether they are archers or melee fighters).
4. Ambush 1 (gives the advantage of going first).
5. Drain (cast on the dogs only after Reinforcement has been used).
6. Restoration 1 (I used it only once in the first mission, but thanks to it, I conducted a battle without losses).
7. Pushback (used very rarely).
8. Reinforcement 2.
9. Giant Killer 1.
10. I don't remember anymore...
I didn't take Logistics because of the small size of the map, and Education - I reached the maximum level anyway, even though by the end of the game, only about a dozen neutral armies remained.
Regarding the walkthrough:
On day 2, I built a barracks and hired another hero, where I developed growth. After that, the main hero dealt with eliminating enemies, and the second hero was just following. Before the end of the first week, we try to conduct one battle and add war dogs to our army. Moving further, at the first fork, we go down, where we take the quest for the "madmen" (I don't remember the exact name), the goal of which is to deliver a mask guarded by fire elementals, located a little south. After adding a new stack, we go to capture the neutral castle (preferably do all this before the end of week 2). I don't know about you, but in the first 3 weeks, I saved 2 treasure chests with infinite gold, which are located near the first two castles. Unlike many, I didn't even bother with the purple hero, but immediately went to clear out the orange one, but as soon as I approached the orange one, the purple one appeared, who wanted to conquer the neutral castle. I solved this problem as follows: I built a main portal in the neutral castle and returned to it when the purple one approached. After accumulating a sufficient amount of money, I bought all the remaining heroes, distributed the skills for increasing money, and put all the stacks on one hero (not the main one), whose ranks were replenished by the army from the castle. After that, with my main hero, I boldly rushed to the orange one, leaving my castle under guard (after that, the purple one never showed up again). And then it was easier - I went around in a circle, conquering castle after castle. Result - 95% of battles - without losses.
