I did the following: in the Heroes shortcut on my desktop, I clicked on properties. Two steps: 1) run as administrator (I have Windows 7, 64-bit), 2) check the box "make compatible with Windows 7". That’s it! The game works! I didn’t update anything!

THE HERO DIDN’T LEAVE PART OF HIS ARMY!! BUT HE BOUGHT THE ENTIRE POPULATION FROM ANOTHER CASTLE (OVER SEVERAL WEEKS)! THEY WERE ALL UNUPGRADED, BECAUSE HE HAD REBUILT THE BARBARIAN CASTLE.
This means that they may have reduced the feature where enemy heroes leave part of their army in the Castle for defense!!

I launched the game in offline mode (without connecting to Conflux). 2. I created a game against the AI. 3. I saved the game. 4. Random artifacts from the DLC set appeared on my map (Captain's Hat, Pirate Flag, etc.). Question: If someone loads my save file on another computer where Heroes 6 is installed WITHOUT the DLC, will they be able to play the game, and what will be in place of those artifacts? Yes, you will be able to play it. And the artifacts should still be there. Because artifacts from the DLC sometimes appear even for players who don't own the DLC. Even on single-player maps.

I confirm. I'm playing on a clean, unmodded version, but pirate artifacts still appear. As for loading saves from another account... I'm not sure. It all comes down to the dynasty settings, doesn't it? If our hero was using the Tide Staff, but on another computer, that staff hasn't been unlocked yet, and the hero hasn't been created, or the bonuses embedded in it haven't even been purchased... Has anyone actually tried this in practice?

In reality, all the dynasty-related features are disabled there – they simply don't work in offline mode, and the save file isn't tied to an account.

That's why there's a condition to play the game with Conflux disabled – otherwise, you won't even see the offline save file in the save slots. But with Conflux disabled, the save file will appear.
