Leonardo da Vinci. Reflections on Science and Art.

Good. It reads like a methodical guide. Detailed, consistent, and well-supported.

Sergei Lukyanenko. Labyrinth of Reflections.

I'm wondering how all of this would look in a movie.

I love textbooks. Especially those on physiology, medical microbiology, and virology. They're very calming.

I read a manual on cottage layout and types of individual housing. Now I'm reading Larry Niven's "Ringworld," and I might write a review later because I like it, but I immediately want to note several ideas borrowed from this book.
  • Ringworld - HALO, Stanford torus
  • Space-warping engine - Star Trek
  • Tiger-human race (Kzinti) - the world of TES (Khajiit)
  • Combination of religious and secular power (Kzinti patriarch) - Warhammer 40k
  • Superweapons that destroy planets - Star Wars
  • Abolition of moral norms
  • Physiological drugs that directly affect the pleasure center in the brain (stimulation with electricity)
  • Extensive evolution of humanoid races, degrading to lower ecological niches
  • Inter-species sex ritual
  • Puppet race, controlling everything
  • "No-time" capsule, static field
  • Pre-nuclear transmutation of ore
  • Network of teleporters
  • Bioreactor, lol
  • Economic systems of cities in a multi-species community
  • Migratory fleet of planets
  • Bacteria that eat superconductors
  • And perhaps a quasi-Russian race that unscrewed the wheels from the Mars rover

За всем следят машины благодати и любви.

Doctor, tell me, am I completely sick?
Well, then it's clear. There's nothing to read at school anyway, except for textbooks.
