To avoid conflicts with maphacks, which we have had in almost all tournaments so far, the organizers plan to make it mandatory to use the HD mod version with password-protected saves; playing without passwords will be by mutual agreement. The somewhat extended registration period is partly due to baratorch being away for 2 weeks. We hope that by September 27th, we will have confidence in the functionality of the new version, a single link that we can give to all tournament players, and a complete description of the new mod.

There are a lot of shortcomings, Bary simply can't handle the workload and the flow of information (bug reports, shortcomings, bugs), and now he has also left for St. Petersburg, so it is unlikely that it can be called an official version, especially for version 3. The last stable version is 2.98f, I wrote above how to avoid map hacks. And if there are two computers, then it's like it used to be. How many tournaments were held before passwords were introduced. Moreover, there are players (I won't point fingers) who can get passwords from saves. They are always located at the same address; you just need to know how to find them and decompile them.

As far as I know, it could be that a copy of the game is not running, but the second Heroes game is running with another game. Some people practice running two games in parallel. It is impossible to prove that a copy is running based on this information. In the editor, a player can view the map on which a restart was taken, and this is not prohibited.

All of this is a case of overthinking. Just like the recent news about "Wait for Me!" caused a stir, now the entire internet is buzzing with dissatisfaction, complaining about how we all grew up watching these cartoons. But if they hadn't said anything, no one would have even noticed. Therefore, all methods of cheating have been made public (and even experienced players, like Vitaly from the portal, have been caught), and now we're complaining that the games aren't being played fairly. Either work with save files and "quietly" eliminate cheaters without causing panic on the forum, or play like we used to – there was no autosave, and there were no problems. :-) Ultimately, the desire to win something is either present in immature, good players, or in newcomers who want to become famous. But those who are more experienced no longer see the point in it: you can always play against a strong opponent, make it a two-way broadcast, and to increase interest in the game, just make a $50 bet – everyone will be watching, I promise. :-)

Basically, there's a simple rule for the duration of the tournament: don't look at the maps in the editor during the game and don't play simultaneously. This way, you can easily spot a cheater by pressing F2. :-)
If I need to launch a second version during my opponent's turn (due to my hobby), I will always warn them, and there won't be any problems.
