A couple of years ago, I bought the "Heroes of Might and Magic V: Gold Edition" from Buky, of course. Back then, when I bought the game, my operating system was Windows XP, but now that I've updated my software and installed Windows 7, the game won't start! "Heroes of Might and Magic V" and "Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate" start without any problems, but there are issues with "Tribes of the East." You see, when I start the game, a dialog box (splash screen) appears, but then the program stops responding. I tried installing patch 3.1, but the problem remains. Can you explain what I should do?

It seems you need to set the compatibility mode (either with Windows 7 or Windows XP – I don’t remember which one).

Putting 3.0 helped me.

Just like Nickiman in 2012, I am currently having a problem launching Lords of the Realm 3.1 in the "Collector's Edition. LIMITED SERIES" localization, copyright holder "Buka", 2010, installed and launched from DVD. Just like him, I have been running the original Heroes V 1.6 and Heroes V - Hammers of Fate 2.1 from the same set of discs with the highest settings for a long time, and adding custom maps and mods does not make the situation any worse. But today, I tried to install Lords of the Realm 3.1 twice (after a full PC restart). After installation, even at a resolution of 1920x1080, the game screen remained square, 4:3, the cursor is uncontrollable, either jumping around the screen in giant leaps, or staying in one place and not moving, the animation freezes so much that the image on the splash screen seems static. Exhausted from fighting with the cursor, I went into the settings and set various options, restarted the game - no changes. I spent more than 7 hours, I am very upset. On 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, the same disc worked perfectly on the same computer, but now I have Windows 10 Professional x64. CPU: Intel Core i3-2350 (2x2.3 GHz, Hyper-Threading, no TurboBoost support). RAM: 16 GB DDR3-1033. HDD: HGST 7K1000 EA Series (server class, designed for 24x7 operation, not a single bad cluster). Video card: integrated, Intel HD Graphics 3000 (according to official data, it allows allocating up to 1.5 GB of video memory, but I can run Games Farm Vikings: Wolves of Midgard with the highest quality settings, and they need a discrete video card with at least 2 GB of video memory). Monitor: Dell FullHD HDCP 24" 1920x1080, model 2013.
I have had problems with Lords of the Realm before, but they were related to the use of powerful discrete video cards. I was forced to abandon discrete video cards altogether, as it became impossible to play with them: the image is distorted, and only color stripes are displayed on the screen instead of the image. :mad: I have been constantly using DirectX Switcher, suggested on another forum by Icha, since I learned about its existence, but this does not solve the problem. Tweaker with any settings is useless. :confused:

2 clarifications (I just forgot to write this in the main message):
1. In March of this year, forum user Frozensoull made the mod for Lords of the Realm that I had long wanted, so I installed it to check how this mod would work. But I didn't get to install any mods: the game is not working. 2. I installed PRT 0.3 mod, checked after restarting: no improvements or changes at all compared to a clean installation without PRT. :confused:

I tried to launch it through DxWnd - it only got worse: then none of the buttons in the game menu are highlighted and cannot be clicked, I had to exit using Ctrl-Alt-Del
