Hello, friends!
With the blessing of VDV_forever, I present to the public a description of my walkthrough (identical to the one I sent to the organizer). Unfortunately, I don't have time to explain my actions step by step, but as an alternative, I will "post" my daily saves later. So…
I came, I saw, I left my mark, or 36 days later
(walkthrough of the Resurrection map by Dmitry_A_S)
Let's start with the map objective. You need to gather the Power of the Dragon Father, having first completed all the quests for it, or as an alternative, destroy all enemies. I don't think I'm revealing America if I say that the first is easier to accomplish, and therefore faster. So, let's gather the Power of the Dragon Father.
The main hero in my walkthrough was Deesa. We hire Deesa in such a way that Jeddite appears after her (Alamar would have been ideal, but I couldn't "scrounge" him). We hire Jeddite and level him up to Expert Literacy (we take Earth, Diplomacy, and then Literacy). In parallel, we visit the Knowledge Stones with Deesa (we take the Pandora's Box with Deesa). In my opinion, the map creators intended for the map to be completed using so-called "bonus" units located on the map that join our army along the way. Therefore, my entire tactic was based on this. Minimal turn expenditure on extraneous things and only forward.
Jeddite is a very powerful hero for a quick start, so with his Blind (we take it from the Mage Shrine) and Resurrection, we take care of the Wizards. This allowed me to open the Guardian of the Passage at 28-14-0 on day 12. By this point, Deesa had the following secondary skills: Expert Wisdom, Advanced Logistics, Advanced Earth, Basic Diplomacy, and Advanced Intelligence (I took Navigation last and also used it to defeat the Cavaliers, freeing up the Rider's Gauntlets). Jeddite had Expert Wisdom and Earth.
Next, with minimal turn expenditure, we "level" Jeddite to Expert Literacy and teach Resurrection to Deesa. In parallel, Deesa takes Intelligence (awarded for experience). Attention! We recruit the Ghost Dragons to our army, who guard the Dragon Bone Kneeguards along with other "undead," and the Dark Knights guarding the Cliff Nest (not forgetting to pick up the Kneeguards).
Next, we sail to another land to capture Tormin's Castle, because time is precious.
I decided to free AlexeyPank from the prison in parallel, especially since with the Captain's Hat, Deesa reached her destination in two days without it. So, with Deesa, we learn Navigation and free the Rider's Gauntlets. We defeat the Phoenixes and get into the boat (by this time Deesa should have already learned Pathfinding). I did this on day 15, and the army consisted of 3 Ghost Dragons, 7 Death Knights, 14 Vampires, 26 Orcs, and 72 Goblins. Next, we reach point 99-75-1 in two days, using the whirlpools at 55-41-0 and 97-65-1.
We open the Guardian of the Passage (48-12-0) with Celt.
Attention!!! We recruit two heroes in Slau's Castle, teach them Navigation at the Witch Hut, and visit Knowledge Stones. These heroes will be helpers closer to the end. With one, we sail to the Guardian of the Passage (61-1-1), with the other to point 58-100-1, and wait there for their time.
On day 18, we occupy the city of Tormin, having defeated the Archangels and Chaos Hydras along the way, and exchange the Dragons with the Knights for gold (the surprise from VDV_forever (100-100-0) we bypass using Advanced Pathfinding). We already have a Capitol, so there's no need to build one in our starting castle.
We hire an army (see below) and open the garrison. From now on, I won't focus on the battles themselves, leaving you room for action. I will only help by reporting the army before and after the battle. So, before the fight with the garrison – 6 Ancient Behemoths, 14 Cyclops Kings, 3 Roc Birds, 27 Orc Chieftains, and I conducted the battle without losses. As a result of the experience gained from the battle, we learn Air Magic with Deesa. Next, we occupy Kildar, not forgetting to open the Griffin Conservatory along the way (the Gargoyles guarding the Magic Armor nearby do not join yet – not enough "meat").
We wait until day 22, recruit Ancient Behemoths and Cyclops in Tormin, and recruit 1996 Gargoyles (my army before recruiting the Gargoyles was - 2 Angels, 11 Behemoths, 23 Cyclops, 19 Roc Birds, 27 Orc Chieftains).
On day 23, I opened the surprise from VDV_forever (attacked only with Gargoyles) and there were 1187 of them left. Now Deesa knows the Town Portal spell. We teach Town Portal to Jeddite, give all the troops and artifacts to Celt, and with the latter kill the Ancient Behemoths (2-3-0). This allows us to level Celt as well. We teach him everything Jeddite knows.
Next, everything is disgustingly simple. With Deesa, we kill the Naga Queens (63-90-0) and pick up the Boots of Speed. We run as fast as we can to Auwer's Castle, not forgetting to kill the Pegasi (93-77-1) and Cyclops Kings (74-99-1), picking up the Titan's Gladius and Helm of Heavenly Thunder. We occupy Auwer and build the Artifact Merchants. In parallel, with Jeddite or Celt, we free AlexeyPank from prison with the Captain's Hat and, after killing the Demons, pick up the Frozen Dragon's Eye. We give both artifacts to Deesa.
With Celt, we don't forget to open the Guardian of the Passage (47-48-0).
We sail with Deesa to Valtara's Castle and occupy it on day 27.
We collect the missing Armor and Shield for the Titan's Thunder.
Day 29 arrives. So, in the dead of night from day 28 to 29, we "scrounge" the Necklace of Ocean Guidance from the Artifact Merchants in Auwer's Castle and assemble the Admiral's Hat for Deesa.
We kill the Efreeti (4-86-1) and exchange the Thunder for 100 Archangels at the Seer's Hut (if you want, you can do this with Hypnosis – Scholar (78-76-0)). Before the battle – 6 Archangels, 17 Ancient Behemoths, 37 Cyclops Kings, 887 Gargoyles. I only lost Gargoyles, of which I had 334 left. This was on day 31.
With Deesa, we open the Guardian of the Passage at 72-78-0 (I already had the required level 30) and with Celt, grabbing the Behemoths, Roc Birds, and Cyclops, we run and open the Guardian of the Passage (38-57-0), recruiting the Phoenixes along the way (50-57-0). Next, with the same hero, we free Joker from prison, taking his Flaming Tongue of the Red Dragon and his army.
With Deesa on day 32, with 106 Archangels and 334 Gargoyles, we kill Xaker (only lost Gargoyles), taking from him the Crown of Dragon's Teeth. Then we first sail, then run to point 88-18-0, where we recruit the Powerful Liches (88-18-0). Note: When opening the garrison at 71-20-0, I lost 7 Archangels. I had AlexeyPank cover the route from the Liches to the Necklace of Dragon's Teeth at 106-5-0 with 2 Archangels to save time. With AlexeyPank, I activated the event at 102-7-0 and fled, buying him back at Slau. We give the Necklace to Deesa (by any means known to you).
In parallel, we build hero chains. The first chain from Slau to the Seer's Hut at 49-23-0, the last must be Celt with Town Portal. The second chain from Auwer to point 59-99-1, the last must be Jeddite with Town Portal.
Next, with Deesa, we take 10 Rust Dragons from Celt and with an army of 97 Archangels and 17 Behemoths, we defeat the Black Dragons, preferably without losing anyone. I think you have already visited the Keymaster's Tent (16-27-0) (start of day 35).
Next, with a helper hero (see above), we open the Guardian of the Passage, take the Dragon Scale Armor, and give it to Deesa.
With Deesa, having restored mana, having given the Captain's Hat to Celt via the hero chain and taking 97 Archangels, 17 Behemoths, 37 Cyclops, 10 Wyvern Monarchs, 14 Phoenixes, and 409 Liches, we run to Magnus and defeat him, taking the Dragon Scale Shield (day 36). After the battle, I had 97 Archangels, 17 Behemoths, 37 Cyclops, and 239 Liches left. The main thing is to have your own catapult destroyed by "someone else's hands" (read: Phoenixes) and to barricade the castle door (from the outside) with one of your own units (a Phoenix). Such a clean victory.
Meanwhile, Celt should exchange the Captain's Hat for the Ring of the Diplomat at the Seer's Hut at 49-23-0, open the Guardian of the Passage at 57-5-0, free Night from prison, take his Immovable Dragon's Eye and give it, along with the Flaming Tongue of the Red Dragon, to Deesa.
With Deesa, using the second hero chain, we give all the troops and artifacts to Jeddite (mainly the Armor of the Damned). From Jeddite, we give everything to the second helper. That hero, in one day, kills the Wyvern Monarchs, opens the Guardian of the Passage, picks up the Cloak of Dragon Wings, and gives everything back to Jeddite.
Attention!! If your helper didn't have enough movement points, make sure in time to give the Necklace of Ocean Guidance from Deesa (after she defeats the Black Dragons) to the second helper.
Jeddite gives everything to Deesa, and Deesa assembles the Power of the Dragon Father.
It took me 36 days in total.
Thank you for your attention, and good luck and fighting spirit to you!
Best regards, Dmitry_A_S
